Bělov lies on the right bank of the Morava River, about 3 km from Otrokovice. The earliest written record of the village dates to 1141.

The brick bell tower, built on a rise in 1775, served in place of a church for the noon and Angelus bells. The municipal complex has a hall, a dance floor and a children's playground, and hosts social events. A small hydroelectric power station has operated on the Morava within Bělov's cadastral area since 2013.
