Komárov lies in the foothills of the Vizovické vrchy, about 20 km from Zlín and southeast of Napajedla. The first mention of the village dates to 1349.

The cultural centre has served the village since 1959 and includes a hall with 150 seats. The municipal office, local library and fire station are housed in the same building. The kindergarten has one class and is in a former school building dating from 1886. Local residents built the Church of Saint Anthony in 1940, and Komárov belongs to the Pohořelice parish.
